ABOUT ME

 

My work begins with observing what is not immediately visible.

People fascinate me not because of how they present themselves, but because of what appears in moments of unconscious expression. In a gaze, a posture, a detail that passes by without someone realizing it.

During my five-year of intensive Classical Atelier training at an Belgian Academy of Fne Arts, I developed a strong foundation in traditional techniques and craftsmanship. This classical foundation continues to form the basis of my work.

With graphite as my starting point, I build my drawings layer by layer. I also work with pastel, bister, watercolor and conté. Each material has its own possibilities, but the search remains the same: creating a work where emotion, nuance and human expression come together.

What continues to drive me is the complexity of being human. The tension between what we show and what we keep hidden. The moments when someone reveals a part of themselves without realizing it. It is precisely there that I find the works I want to create.
