Artist statement

My work is a quest for the deeper layers of being human, for emotions that are often difficult to express in words, but which I try to capture in images. I want to show the rawness and beauty of human experiences—the moments in which we see ourselves, in all our strength and vulnerability. These moments, both intense and fragile, touch the core of who we are.

As a woman, I connect with feminine expression, but at the same time, it's a universal theme that resonates throughout every human experience. This is reflected in the way I draw women: as powerful, vulnerable beings who display both their strength and their fragility. It's my way of showing that we all possess these aspects of being human.

The materials I use, from graphite to pastel, bistre, and watercolor, allow me to capture the subtle nuances of emotion and meaning. The contrast between the understated nature of graphite and the rich color palettes of pastel and watercolor allows me to tell the different facets of the human story—from moments of stillness to intense outbursts, and everything in between.

Vulnerability is at the core of everything I create. It's a strength I've learned to appreciate through the challenges life has thrown at me. My work reflects this process and shows how vulnerability can be a source of strength, beauty, and connection. In a world where feeling often fades into the background, I hope my work encourages you to truly feel again—and thus find connection, with yourself and the people around you.

My art is a reflection of the human experience, raw, powerful yet vulnerable, and I hope it encourages the viewer to embrace their own emotions and vulnerabilities.
